Our Story

Cara Interiors takes great pride in serving the South Surrey/White Rock area in British Columbia, Canada—the community Cara and her family proudly call home.

With 14 years of interior design experience, Cara Lawson, the founder and principal designer at Cara Interiors, has an extensive history of delivering exceptional transformations to residential and commercial spaces. Her creative and stylistic abilities have attracted media attention, and she has been recognized as a Top 3 Interior Designer for Surrey, BC. The diversity of Cara’s portfolio is showcased by National Awards for both commercial office as well as bathroom design issued by the Decorators and Designers Association of Canada. Cara Interiors’ brand reputation has grown substantially since its introduction in 2006. However, the brand’s success was not realized overnight.

Before taking the leap of faith to open the doors of her own interior design studio—a long time dream—Cara spent several years actively growing her portfolio. While operating out of her home in Ocean Park, Cara crafted innovative methods to serve clients and efficiently execute projects independently. Propelled by her customer centric attitude, Cara has always been passionate about hearing the needs of her community and delivering creative solutions.

The concept for Cara Interiors lived as a dream until a commercial space that was previously occupied by a local candy shop became available. Committing to her vision, Cara elegantly transformed the once candy shop into the beautiful studio it is today, with the help of incredible suppliers and tradespeople who stepped up to help in any way possible. Cara credits those individuals and suppliers for bringing her design to fruition and reinforcing the values of teamwork, approachability and safety that are reflected in the culture at the studio today.

Now, well recognized and respected within British Columbia, Cara’s team continues to maintain the brand’s original core values.
